You don't have to do it alone...

Hi , I'm Jenny, originally from South Africa.
I have lived in the UK for many years.
I am based in Reading, UK, working both in person and online.
I believe many of us go through life living by expectations, beliefs or patterns that we learned years ago—often without realising it. Over time, we can lose sight of who we are, what matters to us and the life we truly want to live.
This understanding is what first inspired me to become a counsellor. After having my own experience of personal development, I realised how easy it is to live according to the expectations of others rather than our own values. That experience sparked a passion for helping others gain a deeper understanding of themselves, reconnect with who they are and create a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
As a counsellor, my approach is warm, down to earth and non-judgemental. I believe that everyone deserves to feel genuinely heard, and I aim to create a safe, compassionate space where you can talk openly, explore your thoughts and feelings, and feel understood. Rather than offering advice or trying to "fix" you, I'll work alongside you at your own pace, helping you make sense of your experiences and discover the path that feels right for you.
Through my work, I've developed a particular interest in supporting people who feel they've lost themselves along the way. This may be because of the impact of an unhealthy or controlling relationship, the lasting influence of growing up in a blended or separated family, or the challenges of adjusting to motherhood and wondering where your own identity has gone. Although every person's story is unique, these experiences often leave people questioning themselves, doubting their worth or feeling disconnected from who they truly are. Supporting people as they rebuild confidence, strengthen self-understanding and reconnect with themselves is work I find especially meaningful.
I believe healing begins with understanding—understanding ourselves, our relationships and the experiences that have shaped us. When we can look at our lives with greater awareness and compassion, we create the opportunity for lasting change.
I'm a qualified Level 5 Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing professional training and reflective practice to ensure I provide the best possible support for my clients.
Finding the right counsellor is important, and it's okay if it takes time to find someone who feels like the right fit. If you're considering counselling and would like to see whether we could work well together, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
